Top teams in 4th-6th grade divisions can qualify for the Washington Middle School State Basketball Championship.

3rd - 6th Grade
Register as an individual through the HYL website on Crossbar.
Teams are formed by the league based on the players high school boundaries. This helps connect competitive teams with their future high school program.
Practice: 1X practice a week. One additional practice may be scheduled upon request of the teams coach.
Games: Saturdays only. 10 total including HYL Final Four Tournament.
November 16th, November 23rd, December 7th, January 11th, January 18th, January 25th, February 1st, February 7th, February 15-16th (Final Four)
Games will be scheduled based on last season's performance (if applicable) and input from coaches prior to scheduling.
Games are subject to be re-scheduled after December 8th to ensure competitive divisions and matchups in January & February.
All 3rd - 6th grade players have the option to register for tournaments with their HYL team or a different team. HYL will not schedule league games during tournament weekends. Click below to see what tournament options.
4th-6th Grade State Qualifier
HYL is an official State Qualifying League for the 2025 Washington Middle School Basketball Championship to be held in Spokane on March 7-9 (GIRLS) & March 14-16 (BOYS). All top finishing teams, based on the number of teams in each division, will qualify for the State Championship to battle top teams from towns throughout Washington.
