What is School Recreational?
HYL School Recreational is for players K-6th Grade who want to learn the basics or continue developing their skills and love for the game of basketball. They will participate on a team alongside classmates and friends, experience competition, and most importantly, have fun in a less competitive environment. There is a league for K-2nd Grade and a league for 3rd-6th Grade.
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade School Recreational
Registration: Players register as individuals on the HYL/Sports Engine registration site.
Team Formation:
- Teams are formed based on the players attending elementary school.
- We encourage parents to coordinate teams among classmates and find volunteer coaches to lead the team.

Practice: 1 x week at the teams attending or nearby grade school.
Games: K-2 Recreational teams will have 6 x scheduled games during the season.
Game Play: K-2 Recreational teams use the 27.5 (Size 5) basketball and play on 8 foot hoops. (Click the link for complete Game Rules)
Cost: $75. Discounted price option is available.

- October 18th: Coaches Meeting and Jesey Distribution
- October 19th-23rd: Practices Begin
- October 31st: Game Day 1
- November 7th: Game Day 2
- November 14th: Game Day 3
- November 21st: Game Day 4
- December 5th: Game Day 5
- December 12th: Game Day 6 (Final Game Week and Jersey Return)
Additional Information:
- Due to scheduling complexities, some teams will be required to play two games on a Saturday during the season. If a team is scheduled for two games on one Game Day, they will have a week that they do not have a game. hat they will not have a game.
3rd-6th Grade School Recreational

Games: 3rd-6th Grade Recreational play 7 Games (5 x Regular Season and 2 x Final Four games)
Game Play: 3rd Grade Recreational teams use the 27.5 (Size 5) basketball and play 10 foot hoops. 4th-6th Grade School Recreational teams use 28.5 (Size 6) basketballs and play on 10 foot hoops. (Click the link for complete Game Rules)

Additional Information:
- Every team is guaranteed two Final Four games no matter their win loss records during the season. Final Four brackets are based on the teams’ regular season records with teams matched up against opponent with similar records and skill levels to provide the most competitive and enjoyable
