Divisions

K-2nd Grade Recreational

For players at any skill level who want to play for fun, including beginners. The only division for K - 2nd grade.

PRACTICE: 1x per week.

Teams formed by attending grade school.

GAMES: 1 game a week on Saturdays. 6 games total.

October 26th - December 7th

COST: $60. Reduced and scholarship options are available.

Teams that want to continue playing may register AS A TEAM for the Winter Season.

3rd-6th Grade Recreational

For players at any skill level who want to play for fun, including beginners. 3rd-6th grade recreational teams will end the season with a Final Four tournament.

PRACTICE: 1x per week.

Teams formed by attending grade or middle school.

GAMES: 1 game a week on Saturdays. 7 games total.

October 26th - December 8th

COST: $115. Reduced and scholarship options are available.

All 3rd-6th grade teams have the option to register as a team for tournaments. HYL will not schedule league games during tournament dates.

3rd-6th Grade Competitive

For the player that has prior team basketball experience, better than average skills for his/her grade level, understand the rules, is looking to play a longer season and be on a skilled team from other players within their future high school boundary.

Teams are formed by feeder HS boundaries along with input from coaches and HS volunteers.

PRACTICE: 1X per week. An additional practice may be scheduled upon request. Practices will not be scheduled on Monday or Wednesday nights to avoid conflicts with Club games.

GAMES: 1 game a week on Saturdays. 10 games total.

November 16th - February 16th

COST: $155. Reduced and scholarship options are available.

All 3rd-6th grade teams have the option to register as a team for tournaments. HYL will not schedule league games during tournament dates. Players who play in both HYL competitive and Club will receive a discount on their club registration.

3rd-6th GRADE CLUB

For the teams that are already established and have a coach - similar format to a typical AAU league. This is an "advanced competitive" division that allows players to also play in 3rd-6th competitive if they would like more experience.

Coach-formed teams

GAMES: 8 regular season, minimum 1 playoff game on either Monday or Wednesday nights at local middle schools.

November 2nd - February 16th

COST: $1750 per team

***Players who register for HYL Competitive will receive up to $100 on their HYL Competitive Registration.

SPORTSMANSHIP POLICIES

Participant Conduct: The Hooptown Youth League staff and officials reserve the right to eject any player, coach, official, or spectator from a facility for objectionable behavior.

Referee Complaints – Coaches: Please address any officiating disputes in a professional manner with your gym’s designated Supervisor. Be a role model for your players and address the situation with respect and grace.

Parents: If you have an issue with a referee, you must direct it through your coach.
